Like every other year I’m going to be surprised. I have not been to my lease in a couple months, don’t have any cameras or feeders. However, I’m sure I’ll be happy with what I see and the experiences I have over the next couple months

I couldnít help but laugh when I saw that post.

I love the age progression pictures like that. Gonna be some good ones come out of that part of the world this year. Heck the cold rainy weather may get a bunch of them killed opening weekend. Good luck everyone!

I expected to see some of my bucks explode this year with our range conditions. Instead they are MIA for now

Guess Iíll see what starts coming onto our place since they are getting out of their summer pattern.

Went a couple of weekends ago. Saw a ton of deer but no really big bucks. Saw a really small fawn. It's pretty dry so I'm hoping we pick up some rain this week. Killed 3 pigs as well

The closest LCRA reporting spot to our lease shows 2.17 inches of rain today!!! I'm thankful for every drop.

Looks like we hunt about 20 miles apart. This age progression would really help guys on my lease. Amazing how many great bucks are shot at 4.5. Patients definitely pays off. Congrats to you and one hell of a buck.

Yup got to let them get old. Sometimes in certain situations it’s almost impossible but if possible let them get to at least 7.5.

It shows 3.33 for us as of right now. I had planned on heading out Sunday morning from the house and hunting through Tuesday morning. Guess we'll see as they are calling for more rain. But like you said I'm very thankful for the rain.

Yes sir. Weíll see what happens between now and Friday afternoon. The good thing is I have other places I can go, the bad thing is my target buck is coming in like clockwork right now and he has a tendency to break up once November hits. Due to travel softball Iím not sure when Iíll make it back down, but Iím not too concerned. Iím thankful for the rain and everything will work out one way or the other.

My parents went up and checked rain gauges today. 4.6Ē in the front and 5.0Ē in the back. Surprisingly the ponds caught very very little water and the creeks arenít running. Also all the roads are in good shape. Very surprised

My Hill Country deer from yesterday in the rain. He went about 50 yards. Where we hunt there is no aging deer. They get shot if they have stuff protruding from their heads. We mainly focus on axis.

But I like him!

Congrats on the deer killed so far!!!

I'm at the lease right now and I'm hunting. It's rather warm but it is what it is. I've got several deer in front of me but nothing exciting enough to want to shoot one. Besides I always let my kiddos hammer one first so unless something crazy happens I'll only shoot pigs this trip.
