    Downtown Austin eats

Heading to a conference early next week in Downtown Austin and looking for a couple recommendations of places to eat. Our schedule is pretty hectic, so we aren't planning on leaving the downtown area.

Don't mind spending some coin on good food, but we aren't looking for anything fancy or formal. It's just a few guys in the group so cold beer and good burgers or other comfort food is the ticket.

If your there on a Sunday morning … Perla’s. The lobster omlet is fantastic.

It sounds like you guys might enjoy Banger's down off Rainey St. Great food and beer.

Gus’s Fried Chicken near the convention center. It aint Austin OG but its spicy fried chicken and they serve beer. FYI they dont offer non spicy fried chicken. I ended up eating chicken for 6 when I took my son and his friends after a dinosaur convention.

                            Big fan of Hoovers.

Just know before you go in, they are some to the n’th degree.

Still good food though, I go there evertime I am in town.

Thanks to all for the input.

I probably should have said we all live in H-town, so there is most definitely some overlap on places to eat and we are going to try places not available to us. Lots of ideas thus far.
