Has anyone stayed in key west. I will be going there this summer with Boy Scouts. We will be staying one night at a hotel. Just trying to find out if there is an area to avoid. Thanks.

Depends on what you want to expose them to....Duval St is like a mini Bourbon St.

Would not think it would be a place for the Scouters.

Say no to Duval Street.

If you must, try the Hilton Garden Inn, it is at the other end of the island.

If any of them scouts have cellphones, they've already seen enough to be immune to Duval Street!

I was looking at the best western but it is near duval. I think I may go with the Hilton instead. I hate to even stay the night but we could not get a flight early enough on the day we go to seabase.

It sounds like duval st is not where I want to be with 15-17 year old boys with hormones going crazy.

There is a Best Western on the Southeast corner of the island away from the party district. It was very clean and had large pool with the ocean just across the road. Do not take them to the garden of eden. lol. I learned most of my vices in boy scouts.

Won't alarm any of your scouts..
The interwbez has all kids preconditioned for what used to be
Adult only...

The best of Key West and Boca Chica you need a Military ID card for. If it ain’t during some special festivities Duvall and the Point are benign.

are you going to the navy base in Key west. They might have camping there for scouts. I know they had a rv site, and other options years ago. You might try that route.
If its bike week, they might see things like they have never seen before.

We are going to the high adventure BSA camp. We were hoping to fly in the morning camp started but no flights would get us there early enough.
