I will post my number later closer to the hunt, you can call me when you get to No. 7 and we'll send a boat to get ya.

Bring camping gear, whatever you would normally bring, although hammocks have been shown to greatly increase your kill ratio.

Extra socks are always a good idea as is a headlamp and some TP.

If you like late night shenanigans around the campfire, some ***less chaps would fit the bill.

And beer, of course...

And yes, I will be out on Wednesday.

Yes, you can park at the ramps, just let them know (the camp hosts) you will be there a few days.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if I am able to join ya'll with a crossbow, as of now that's all I have. I have a lot of back problems so its hard for me to pull back a compound bow .I am planning on getting one in the future, because I struggle with the crossbow too. but i cant afford one right now. I'm really looking forward to joining ya'll one of these years. please let me know so i can get my stuff together if i am able to join yall this year.

Sure thing; while this hunt has never allowed crossbows we have always allowed crossbows for those with a medical reason why they can't shoot a normal bow.

All we ask is that it it treated like the loaded weapon that it is; because if you don't, we will call you on it, we ain't shy about that stuff.

Yeah same. I was gonna sign up for mustard and/or peanut oil. Don't see mustard on the list anymore and can't tell if oil is covered. Might just bring some of each just in case.

Been checking the weather. Pack your cold weather gear. Evenings look to be in the 30’s. Also for those boating in on Thursday. 16mph winds will be hell on small boats trying to come in from the lake. Be careful.

That weather looks good for us Northeastern US transplants. 20 degrees is my limit, but I did get a new sleeping mat and over quilt, so .... Hammock with the right gear rules. Plus, cooler weather should have the swine moving more.

Looks like good cool damp weather leading up to GRXH, as of now. Then possibly cool blue bird weather for the event. Or rain and snow through out. Awesome, either way.

The ground upstream from camp is covered in ice. We’ll get more ice and snow Sunday night with a good hard freeze. That ice will stay around prolly until Wed.

It looks like mids 40s high mid week leading up to Saturday and 60ish on Saturday. Hopefully warm up will get the fish biting and hogs foraging.

The underbrush was really starting to bud out...this should keep our brushy shooting lanes clear-ish through the hunt.

Im leaving the longbow at the house. The wheel bow is coming along for some killin.

I need it to warm up. I have 1 broken pipe, 2 frozen pipes, and a frozen well. I need to fix everything before the weekend.
