There was only one reason ISU was ranked #6, they needed someone with a pulse playing in a conf championship game for a just in case. Had the Cyclones won, I assure you, those homers at ESPN would have been lobbying for them to be in the CFP.....anything to screw the Aggies. The whole world is against the Aggies. I read it was a fully guaranteed deal so shouldn’t matter when they cut him loose.

The last part is goofy. He has access to way more talent in Texas or Florida where he left.

Disagree Bob. Texas, fl, ca have more players in nfl but also have multiple D1 schools, every kid in La wants to play for the tigas, it’s probably the easiest recruiting job in the country. Les Miles and O won championships there, need I say more, one eats grass and the other doesn’t speak English

What is going on at Auburn? Throw Gus and $21M out the door. Now Napier (Louisiana) and Clark (UAB) pull out. Everyone thought it would be Freeze (Liberty) but haven’t been much talk there.

I hope Auburn royally screws this up. What a mistake firing malzahn. They better get use to 4th place in the SEC West.

I was for sure, they had a coach already signed when they made the move on Gus. Crazy they are going through the interviews. I still think it ends up being Clark from UAB and I think he’s a hell of a ball coach that knows the state well.

Behind the scenes good ol boy political wrangling going on in Auburn. Not many good coaches want to deal with it. Gus should have never gotten the extension he received. Hope he enjoys his new lake house next to Bruce and the AD that hooked him up with the extension

The issue is that the boneheads running the search are requiring all candidates to keep Steele and Garner on staff--who were the moles on Gus's staff for some of the BOT members and facilitated getting him fired--and everyone is rightfully telling them to screw off.

Hopefully this ends with everyone on the whole list turning Auby down and the folks in charge having to start over and offer full control.

This ^^^^ pretty much says it all.

LOL......what else is he gonna say? “We shouldn’t be in this game after showing the world what a fraud we are?”.

Uhhhhh, yeah no. Never gonna happen. LSU is always one step away from probation. It takes a special kind of person to coach at ELLE ESSSE EAUX and y’all have him.

Raymond? NOPE!!! Once coaches start listening to fans and players current or past they may as well pack their bags.

All kind of stupid names out there like Muschamp, Mason, hell I am waiting to hear 3rd and Chavis. Enough of the retreads. Get an up and comer.

Appears there is a power struggle between Woody and the Captain on who to hire.

Googled it.

$5MM buyout +/-

He was there 47 weeks

That's $106k per week of work just in buyout money

I picked the wrong profession. I should have been a really bad football coach.

Yea. Coonies patience and memories runs short. Between the investigation, Shrimp Boat Capt dumping his wife for a skank, and this Covid-19 season the shiny trophy has gotten a little dull. LSU boosters do not want to do a complete rebuild like they had to do after the Curly, Dinardo, and Archer days.

I would say he is on an extremely short leash.

His buyout is $27M if fired this year, $21M next year, so they are probably stuck together for a bit.

Capt has to realize he is a good rah rah guy. Without stud coordinators he will sink fast. Even if they have to pin something on him to reduce the buyout they will. That coonie mafia has no morals.

The bayou can live with Eaux as long as he leaves the X's and O's to top flight coordinators and their assistants.
