A business colleague of mine texted yesterday to inform me his son was onboard and is still unaccounted for. Tragic in so many ways.

Have they been able to dive into the ship and search it yet? Weren’t the divers planning on doing that today?

They've been diving for the last few days, when the weather permitted.
They started with the hull and engine room. Then went to the bridge, which is in the mud. Level 3 was next. They're having to go through messes of sheetrock and insulation that was busted loose. Level 2 and the galley are next. The galley is supposed to have water tight doors, and is also where the crew is trained to go in case of such an event. This is really the last hope for finding any survivors.

This has been a really slow process, and most of the families that are on location are very irate. Tina's sister has been there the whole time and was posting 2 videos a day (instead of typing out everything) on Facebook. She said the meetings are chaos. Facebook took down her videos, for some reason, and did the same with a few other people that were doing the same.

The divers cleared the second level today and didn't find anyone.
The only place left is the galley, which is on level 1.
It's supposed to be water tight, so there's still a glimmer of hope.

They are certainly catching a lot of flack. Seacor has probably spent more time talking to their attorneys than talking to the families of the lost workers.

The divers cleared the galley, and didn't find any bodies.
There's only one room/compartment left to look; on day 1, one of the guys that was rescued said that this last room is where most of the men were. If my memory serves me, the outside entrance to this area was blocked by debris.

At this point, we've accepted that this has become a recovery.
I hope they find the last 8, so that all those families, including ours, can have closure.

Yes, they found his body late yesterday. He was in the engine room, that was one of the first areas that they searched. He was tangled up in a bunch of debris.

It's a lot to process, and still seems unreal. He was a hard working man and a great daddy to his girls. Drowning has got to be one of the worst possible ways to die, and it's a shame that this even happened when it could have been prevented. At least we have closure; I'm afraid that some of the families won't get that.

Thanks everyone for your prayers.

On average, you can live 3 days without water. Even if there was an air pocket somewhere, the chance of them finding anyone alive after a week is almost zero.

That says a lot. To some it may not be much since the loved one has passed away, but I’d sure take that over never knowing. God bless your family and all those who lost loved ones in this horrible tragedy
