I didnít mean in need financially, but when they force more wolves, or grizzly on yíall or start hocking off public lands dont expect nonresidents to show up to help.
The loss revenus is estimated at $8 million with ways to offset that with price increases for NR licenses and increases in resident prices as well.
We will not be selling off any public lands in Wyoming, that I know. Wolves, we deal with now, same for grizz.

Wyoming residents are entitled to say 6 pronghorn licenses by state statute but WG&F made the rule that we can only apply for 3 in the 1st draw. The licenses not drawn are because we could not apply for more than 1 buck and 2 doe tags in 1st draw not because no one wanted to apply for them.

They are all our licenses as residents but the commission, WG&F, decision to roll unapplied for licenses into the NR draw limits our ability to get those extra licenses. They have always been wanted but hard to draw the extras we are allowed simply because WG&F has rolled them onto your draw.

We are not taking any licenses away from NR just claiming what has been ours but given to you all for years.
You will have a set quota if the percentage changes happen for LQ tags and NR will get those licenses guaranteed for your draw.

Good luck folks on your AZ hunts. Hoping it's a great year for antlers down there .

Did you draw the early Archery hunt? I am up to 4 or 5 points now. I know I will be in the game for a while, but I want to eventually do something out there.

I also want to make a trip to Vegas and drive over to do the hunters ed day while I'm there to gain an extra point.

Any of y'all going to CO this fall for an OTC Archery hunt? We have a group heading that way in early Archery before the Muzzleloaders start bumping around.

We're planning on it. Either the 5-11th or the 19-25th depending on the NM draw. We will be scouting a couple of units this summer. First ever elk hunt early archery in 81 in 2019. Called in and missed a raghorn bull. Only elk we saw the whole trip. Lot of bear, LOTS of hunters, even deep. Son was born in September last year, so didn't go. Found good bulls local though.

Good luck to everyone!

Colorado OTC is on my radar assuming I don't draw WY (it'd have to be random draw, not enough points to guarantee) but I'd need to join a group as my hunting partners aren't on board with CO.

We will head north on the 5th and head back down on the 13th. Have it narrowed down to 5/6 units currently but will cut that down to probably 3 by June/July

Wyoming doesn't draw until our quotas are set and approved by the commission.
The outfitters association pushed for and got the early application period even though our draw is in summer.
Commission will approve the quotas here in about a week or so.

Weíve had our first griz fatality of the year. Man camping near West Yellowstone, attacked Thursday and died Saturday. When GWs, bear specialists went in on Friday it attacked the 7 men- who opened fire and dropped it 20 yards away. I understand they carry 12 gauge slug guns and AR 10s in .308.

Pray for the poor guy.

https://nbcmontana.com/amp/newslette...y-grizzly-bear

I picked up some of these to post on TBH. Hunt hard up here, but safely.

I drew my Bull tag for Montana. I was shocked as I just put in last minute and had zero expectations of drawing it since I just drew on 2 years ago. Good luck to everyone else this fall.

I drew my first choice on my first time to apply.

Second rifle Elk unit 36, Ruidoso.

Not sure what to say or think at this point. Applied late on a whim and ended up solo as my hunting partner had application issues. He will really be bummed when he hears this.

I drew my late archery deer tag again this year in a new unit. Pretty pumped to dive in and learn a new piece of country. No elk tag for me in NM but I did draw a limited entry tag in Montana along with a nov deer tag.

I ordered my 26” lite frame and hoodlum yesterday.

Yeah, but not so bad this year. Only applied for ultra premium elk tags and rifle ibex.

What sux is back when i was trying to draw the 'easy to draw' middle of the road archery hunts.

Probably gonna hunt elk 5 miles from my house this year.

Drew unit 37 first archery. I have familiarity with the area as I've mule deer hunted there for 6 years on private. I reached out to our private owner and hopefully have secured a sweet access point through his property. Maybe a place to camp too.

This is going to be the most expensive hunt of my life lol. I've grab a few items over the years, but basically need to fully outfit myself for a 7 day hunt. I will likely be visiting this thread often with questions as this is my first pubic hunt, first elk hunt, and first camping hunt.
