It happens. And often it isn't you made a bad shot but that the pig moved.

Been there done that, only about 4" of penetration. It sucks because it seems like a good shot. Get him next time! The last big boar I shot with my bow was straight up the ***hole and he died within 30 yards. Might give that a try
