    AR county question

If a buck breaks one side off and leaves about two inches unbranched, is that legal?

I think you answered that in your question! 1 unbranched antler

Legal, as far as I know. But watch very carefully for a brow tine or any kickers >1 inch.

Broken off at the base (ie no antler present) is not legal.

His g1 is only thing left on the one side and it’s about a inch. He was a 8 within the ears or now a 5.

I need a photo. Sounds like a 6 point with a branch on the broken side ?

            Why the question?

Unless meat hunting, why shoot a deer that is broken off?

Could be a cull buck. I had one last year with some small, funky looking horns. He wasn’t legal. Next pictures showed him breaking off part of his horns and he was legal to shoot at that point.

Never shot him but someone else found him dead. He got tangled in a barbed wire fence.

I believe that is correct. He would not have an “unbranched” antler...he would only have one antler that was branched.

That’s how I read it. “At least one unbranched antler.”

Why not? OP’s deer sounds like it has “at least one unbranched antler.”

If anyone can help me in loading a pic, I can load a image. Don’t know why it’s so difficult on this forum to load a image. It’s ask for a url. It’s on my phone.
