Scouted over 10 miles worth of walking on Tuesday. Man it sure was hot. Found a lot of good intel though. Found a couple of year after year rub lines that piqued my interest....

I use OnX Hunting. Shows property boundaries , highlights public lands, and has an off grid mode (which you'll need out there) for gps location without cell service.

Agree with others on OnX. Also if you dont hunt out of state you can purchase just Texas for about $30 a year.

Large grass fire near Alvord has burnt 500 acres and has 0% containment. Anyone know if this is burning any of the units out there?

The fire started in Barcley's Junkyard. So far it has burned Unit 23, jumped the road into the north part of Unit 41 and is headed west.

That junkyard is a toxic waste dump. Lots of black smoke.

Hope they get it contained... there a lot of residences near there.

With the wind direction, if it started in the junkyard... it should only be the north corner of unit 41.

We drove by on 287 around 2:45 this morning on our way to Colorado. Couldn’t see any glow from a fire from the highway.
