    2x72 grinder project

Haven't really been documenting this one like I wanted... been down with the flu and working between fever and exhaustion.

She's basically a hybrid of few designs on youtube. I may mount it to a 1/4" plate later, but for now it seems like it's gonna be plenty stable as is.

Waiting on a couple electronic parts for the variable speed controller.

I think I like it. How are we using it to punish Democrats?

Needs minimum 1 hp motor. 2 hp even betterer. Platen could also be twice as wide. My preference. Good VFD with forward and reverse will require 230v 3ph motor but the VFD can run on 120v input and will convert to 230v. This is a good inverter for the money. https://www.kb-controls.com/product....5&categoryId=7

I have bought a few drives from these guys. Good prices and they will help with setup.

I went the $20 route for this build. Using an ammo can for housing.

I'm currently in the midst of a build myself.

Nice build so far. I recommend using urethane or rubber wheels above and below the platen. I have a 2" on top and a 4" on bottom. I use them both frequently. Much more versatile than the standard 2" aluminum platen wheels on a KMG, for example.

Yep. I hate them aluminum wheels except for the drive wheel. wish I could find rubber wheels for my small 1/2", 3/4" and 1" small wheel attachment. Reeder Products don't make them that small. I prefer a 90 duro hardness. Hate them too soft 60 duro wheels.

USA Knifemaker used to carry rubber small wheels.
