How I found it today. Looks great but all below the surface.

Roughed it up just a bit and made a dam out of hot glue per YouTube. Pick shown is a key tool. Cleaned out the areas and manipulates hot glue.

Second fill. Even hit a few knots and other low spots. Drum sander will get a workout anyway. Color came out lighter, more what I had in mind. Pictures still don’t capture it well.

            New Project

Hmmm... first pour was everything I could want out of epoxy. Rock solid, crisp and shiny. This one not so much. Surface almost feels damp/oily. Brought it inside for warmer temps and low humidity. Was dang warm out for the first pour. Hope it helps but almost 24 hours in not sure I’m in for much change. Still have high hopes it sands out well.

Give it another 24 hours. Temp and humidity fluctuations like we had yesterday will dramatically effect cure times.

Thanks Michael I’ll do that then. Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Great advice to wait. It seems a lot better this morning. Hoping to start sanding on it this afternoon.

Teaser pic. Epoxy sands easy, hot glue is a nightmare. I watch YouTube and wonder how a turning block stays put with hot glue. Swear I could hang an outboard motor with this crap. What I get for raiding the wife’s craft room without asking.

Many trips through the drum sander. Orbital at 120 and 220. 800 and 1000 dry, then wet. The. Ran through some micro grits. Very happy with it.

That turned out very nice! What type epoxy did use and where did you get it? I'm going to try this soon.
