As long as you can legally possess it and the recipient is also legal.

USPS is how I have done it in the past. In a case which was inside a box.

Edit to put in USPS not UPS, UPS will not touch a firearm or parts.

Yes, only at a UPS regional hub.

USPS freaked out last time I tried to ship a long gun with them.

I almost found that out the hard way with UPS, I had to beg a guy to finally ship it as "machine parts".

Yes

I've done it through USPS without any problems. I just went to the local post office with the rifle already packaged in a box. Only once have they asked what it was, and when i let them know they simply said "ok"

Yes.
I've always used UPS and never had an issue.
Keep in mind you need to go to a REAL UPS office. Not a "UPS store"

Just thinking about liability here.... if you sell a weapon to somebody without the FFL and that said weapon is implicated in a future crime - letís say found in a dumpster and matched to a felony. Would the police come looking for you? Might find yourself mightily inconvenienced proving you were somewhere else...

As long as you don't believe the person is a felon should be pretty easy to prove you shipped a rifle to an individual on x date and x time.

Regardless, I always get a bill of sale.
