I think he was correlating the qbs coached and won nattys with... not actually adding them to his HC stats

They didn’t back off. Hornsby was their original choice and he chose UNC. King was just recently offered, probably because Hornsby was upfront with Jimbo. Now he’s all in on King. In all honesty, I like king better for fishers offense. Not sure why he went so hard after Hornsby so early. King is a better fit for fishers offense. Hornsby going elsewhere will prolly be a blessing if he lands King. I just don’t know why it’s so hard for an Aggie to say they missed on somebody. It happens to everybody but Aggies I guess.

Have you heard Hornsby speak? I got concerns he can learn a D1 playbook and be a QB. He makes Vince young look and sound smart. That being said, I wish him the best of luck.

Not a good fit in the “QB Room”

Be interested to hear the guy. Riley has had 2 so far, he's legit too.
Count Riley out, he "got lucky" with all his recent starting qbs He's luckier than Jimbo even

Mayfield - Transfer after starting at previous school
Murray - Transfer after starting at previous school
Hurts - Transfer after starting at previous school

Hurts will be a Heisman contender next year and zero doesn't miss a beat. (As much as I hope they suck.) I'll never underestimate that bunch again after doing so with midget last year. I hate them but I respect them.

Is Hurts the same kind of QB as Murray and Mayfield? I'm sure he'll do just fine and they'll be good. I can assure Texas will be ready to go in Dallas. Ehlinger thrives in that scenario. Texas will have the better D.

Tech screwed up with Mayfield. Everyone knew he was good.

Murray did nothing at A&M so I was among many who thought he wouldn't succeed at OU. We were wrong. Turns out it was a combination of bad coaching at ATM and good coaching at OU. No one questioned whether he was a good passer or not.

Hurts is different cat. Great athlete but lost his job because his passing skills weren't good enough. It will be interesting to see is Riley adjusts the offense to take advantage of Hurts' strength or if he can "fix" Hurts and make him a serviceable passer. I'm hoping the latter doesn't happen but, I am sure not betting against it again.

And I'm with Coldgas. I hate OU but sure as heck respect them.

It seemed like Hurts tossed the ball okay in the conference title game. Small sample, but who's to say he didn't make improvement last year already. There were maybe 2 qbs in college football last year that would of challenge Tua for the starting job.

They’re just hoping he’s a bust. Only one prediction of Hurts being less than stellar so far. Many have learned their lesson. LOL😂😂

OU will be good again this year but I think it's asking a bit much for me to be "hopeful" they have a great season.

You are being nearsighted. I understand the importance of the 'rivalry' but your club won and OU still went to the playoff. Charlie beat OU and.......
Does it make your season? I've been to a handful of the games and it's a great atmosphere!

Not sure how Tech and Coach Bro screwed up with Mayfield. He lost his spot to Patrick Mahomes, simple as that. Same as Hurts lost his spot to Tua at Bama.

I for 1 believe Hurts will struggle this year without a good line, like he had at Alabama, to protect him. He gets nervous when pressured and with OU losing all of their linemen Hurts could be running for his life or just chunking it up for grabs before he gets clobbered. If teams can pressure him they can contain his running. He for sure will be out of the Heisman conversation early in the season. OU goes 9-3 and does not repeat at Big 12 champion. Texas will win the Big 12 but look out for Baylor.

The game will slow down for Hurts moving to the Big 12. Seeing a Baylor, Kansas, Iowa State pass rush will be a joke.

OU recruits well and will provide him enough to time.

Hurts will be fine, I simply expect a kid named Ehlinger to be better in his third year in the same system. I could still see a split, hard to beat a team like OU twice.

The Aggies taxslayer bowl ring, where they played NC state has the inscription of the LSU game final score in it

Hurts won’t struggle at all. Great talent and even better young man. Riley owns the Big 12-2

Hurts made some big strides last year in the passing game. He hired a qb coach over that summer if I am not mistaken. Yes, it was mostly clean up time but his down field passing made a big jump from what it was (non existent). Im rooting for him to do good. He handled that whole situation last year with class.

TCU is my dark horse

I just haven't been impressed with Ehlinger as a whole. He has to make a big jump in consistency if UT is going to have a chance. He's had a few moments that leave some optimism though. That jump would have been a lot easier had Lil Jordan not left for the draft.
