Explosion at Deer Camp in Red River County

RED RIVER COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Longview Fire Department confirms the are on their way to assist in search and rescue efforts after an explosion in an underground bunker at a deer camp in the Talco area.

According to officials, three people are unaccounted for and are believed to be trapped inside the bunker. The Longview Fire Marshall said the department’s rescue team was on the way to assist.

The Paris Fire Department said they sent a two-man response team to do air monitoring.

According to our reporter at the scene, the site of the explosion is at a gated property at near the intersection of CR 1410 and CR 1436 in Red River County.

Other details are limited at this time. KLTV has a crew en route and we will update this story with any new details we receive.

I hunted a small place by Talco when I lived in Paris. Heard some weird stuff sitting out there. Pretty back woods there. Hope they are ok.

Seems like Longview would be a long ways for help from Talco. Paris,Sulphur Springs,Mt Vernon,Mt Pleasant would be closer

Never a bunker. But surprised never had a Coleman, gasoline, propane or some other explosion.
