I wanted a cheap gun to leave in my Ranger that if something happened to it, it would not matter.
I bought one in 300AAC and cut the barrel off right in front of the stock.

It is handy as a hip pocket, shoots well out to 100 yards and weights less than some handguns I own

Does changing the stock on these mess with the accuracy? I read the factory bedded stock is great for accuracy but didnt know.

A better, heavier or more rigid stock will improve your shooting. The gun will remain the same.

Me. You can buy and older beater 700 that's built like a tank and out shoot them all day long. Only plastic guns I own are glocks. Took me years to accept them!

I just got mine into a Magpul stock.

              Made a bunch of difference.

When I lean my cheek on it to shoot prone, it no longer flexes.

Shot a 5 round group last weekend that measures out at .634” out to out.

I liked the rifle before, now I’m really happy with it.

I think if they go to a wood stock the price point will change and it will no longer be affordable. This rifle delivers a lot, but that dang stock leaves so much to be desired.

Can the bolt knob be replaced without taking it to a Smith?

                        Good question. Not sure.

It’ll be a couple weeks before I head out to the Farm again. I’ll try to get a weight then.

Thank you sir. I seen where the stock is around 3.5-3.75lbs if I'm not mistaking. Just wasnt sure what the barrel and aviation weighed.

The Magpul stock is by far the best alternative chassis!

It’s not light, but it’s extremely balanced. The stock itself is 3.3 pounds. The POS factory stock only weighs a pound.

                            This is the .308 RAP
