Found an old fishing pic

Date said 1961 so I was 5. That’s my grandfather who was born in 1889 so he was about 72. Lived his whole life around Grapeland. You can see my dad’s 59’ Mercury in the background

Great pic!!! Those old timers always dressed well. Nowadays I see people looking like they fell on hard times fishing in $65k boats. Strange. Lol.

Had some good friends lived in Grapeland back about then. Gladys and Lunsford Hobson. He was a farmer/preacher. They were the salt of the earth kind of people. Your grandpa reminds me of him.

great pic. and gramps has that shirt buttoned to the top. Neatness was more important once upon a time. I guess I like my stretched out t shirt all the while wishing respect was daily part of life as it once was. Thankfully many folks particularly outdoors folks do put respect up front. And so many older pics no one smiles. Just an observation Thanks for sharing
