Default East TX Golf - Athens CC or Pine Dunes

Any golfers that have played both? If so, which would you pick if you only could play one of the courses? Playing next weekend. Thanks!

Pine Dunes is super! No frills, excellent shape!

We should have the TBH Open there!

Definitely Dunes. I’m in Palestine but haven’t been recently. Used to be a member when I was coaching and played golf more.

As a golf Professional I can tell you Pine Dunes is a solid course. Wish it was closer to DFW. Take a rod a reel. Some good fish on 18

TBH Open would be ideal at Pine Dunes! We could make it a mini Bownanza with a couple smokers and much coolers of beer...

Never been to Athens CC but love me some Pine Dunes.

Pine dunes no questions. Athens is a a decent east Texas track but seriously no comparison.

My oldest is eat up with it. Played 5-6 junior tournaments this spring and starts the summer trail on Monday. Plays Monday at Emerald Bay, Pine Dunes on Tuesday and Athens CC the following Monday.

Ugh...no! Itís a nice course for sure, played 2 weeks ago but if you say these things, you need to buy qualifiers on it.

At one time it was the #1 public course in Texas but there is probably 20-25 courses rated higher in Texas let alone the US
