    Giant Word Medical Event

A couple of weeks ago I learned I had a 80% blockage in my right Carotid Artery. Something signaled my Cardiologist to order the CT Scan. He then scheduled me to see a surgeon ASAP.
I did see the Surgeon and the procedure was scheduled for December 21. I checked in to the hospital at 8:30 AM, had the surgery at about 11 AM. Then checked out 24 hours later. The big word turned out to be Carotid "Endarterectomy."
The amazing part is I'm home with virtually no discomfort at all. No stitches as the incisions are basically glued shut. Just a few weeks of easy duty now. I dodged the severe stroke at 73 years of age.
Hats off to Dr Stephen Maniscalco for the handiwork!
    He's in The Woodlands.

Awesome!! Dad just had a heart valve replaced via cath & was home in 24 hours...medicine is amazing.

Was talking with my cardio vascular surgeon buddy & said he used to have to do them just up until a few years ago...avoiding a procedure that I assumed was gonna ground him like his previous bypass was astonishing to me.

My goodness, Bill! Thankful that this was caught and repaired!

I have told my cardiologist that if I die of a heart attack, I am okay with that, but don't let me have a stroke.
