    Shooting advice

So one of my boys has elbows that are nearly double jointed. Like when he's at full draw, the forearm is directly in the string path. He's 14 and the more he matures and puts on muscle the worse it has gotten. We've tried sleeves and changing anchor points to where he isn't getting his elbow locked but that's tough to be consistent with.
Anybody dealt with similar or have recommendations?

Change his grip, that’s how you get your arm out of the path of the string.

I’m with Brian, sounds like his draw length is too long

He can either learn to shoot with a short draw or shoot left handed

This, what I had to do for my wife. This will fix it.

Second grip change, shorten draw length, and dialing back the draw weight.

Shorten draw length.. Open hand, roll elbow out. Grip will change.

Probably need to get one of the ladies on here with a big rack to come show him how to compensate....

That being said shorter draw like others have said comes to mind.

Hadn't thought of shorter draw length but it makes sense instead of changing anchor point, thanks.
And he is LH but both elbows are freaky like his mom's lol.

This…. I have the same elbows and struggled with bow slap for years…. His is exactly what I ended up doing to adjust.

Did exactly this with my 9yo grandson just last week. Walk him thru it every shot.

My first instinct would be to modify his grip slightly. Do you have any pictures you can post of both his grip and draw length?
