I put carpet in his town home here in Houston. 1985 he was a really down to earth type guy.

I saw him at several gun shows before I realized who he was. He was such a short guy in person and I really didn’t watch the Virginian when it was on prime time. One day I paused at his booth, was looking at the pictures, and kinda muttered under my breath, “****, we got old didn’t we ?” I meant it in the context of “we”, all of us around that age, but I think it hurt his feelings because he walked away to the other end of the display. I really didn’t realize he was standing there because I had my head down and wearing a cap, but I guess he thought I was ridiculing him, which I wasn’t. Hell, he was only ten years older than me. I always wish I had talked to him and explained that I just meant that time was passing by pretty fast. R. I. P. Mr. Drury

The ladies all loved the Virginian on those shows. Just watched a couple last week.
