Post the recipe if you don’t mind. Last time I tried it in the crockpot, it didn’t turn out all that great.
My wife hates it but I don’t have a lot of actual recipes I follow. This one took about 5 fails before finally getting it good, and there is room to improve.
Mix the below together and put it in with venison, sliced thin turns out best
1 packet Kikoman beef and broccoli seasoning
Garlic powder or smashed up garlic cloves
1 cup beef stock
1/3 cup low sodium shoyu (soy sauce)
Maybe 1-2 table spoons brown sugar
Cayenne or smoked paprika to taste
1 tablespoon ginger
Throw that in the crockpot on low for about 45min, then add you cut up broccoli. I’ve learned I need to cut it smaller. Usually use about 4-5 crowns. Cook another hour on low
A lot of the recipes that call for beef say to go for 4-6 hours on low and I’ve found with venison it dries it out way too much. It’s best if you slice it thin like the beef you’d get at a Chinese food place so it can’t cook that long
I am smoking a brisket today, will be making potato salad, also will be making a slow cooker stew, to put in containers and freeze. I am heading to my deer lease tomorrow so I have to cook up a bunch to take with me. No running into Sanderson to eat lunch.
