What kind of bird is this?

He's eating seeds. His tail is about 4-5" long. He's smaller than a robin but similar color with white flecks.

Yep Spotted Towhee. I've got them out at my place this time of year. A buddy of mine is an avid birder...he says that they are one of the fanciest sparrows

The spotted towhees have it. Deep red eyes. Nice find.

It’s a Milamore bird. When it gets frightened, it sticks its head in the ground and when the wind blows across its butt, you can hear the whistle for a mile or more

Taste better than dove. They are smaller so you need to shoot more.
