Killing a peacock

Had one show up here in NW Houston after one of the floods.
Never could find the owner. Wife got tired of its screeching.

Put it on Craigslist for $100. My phone was ringing off the wall.
Sold it in the first 10 minutes. Should of asked $200

Like I said I climbed up a tree in the dark and shoved one out of it, I think they would be easy to catch, gotta find em first though

Well whats the legality surrounding killing a peacock?

Say a friend of mine lives out of city limits and has rogue peacocks all over their place that mess up their garden and crap everywhere.

Can we shoot a colorful bird or two?

They are high dollar as well.

Went on a Peacock hunt once when I was younger. They had got loose and turned native, roosting in some big old live oaks. Fortunately, the Good Lord looks after Fools and Drunks, so I had double coverage, and no man nor animal was harmed during the escapade. Duck Camp full of shotguns but I thought a pistol would be best for some reason....

Peacock questions -
If i keep them around the ranch cabin, will they keep snakes away?
Will the coyotes & foxes hammer them, or are they big enough to fend off predators?
Anyone sell them in West TX - Midland / San Angelo
Are they mean?
