    Anyone seeing any snakes yet?

It's about that time of year again. I'm ready to get out and start catching some rattlesnakes. Have any of y'all started seeing any yet?

Only active snakes we have in Arkansas at the moment are snow snakes. We have about 3" of sleet on the ground right now. Everything else is as deep in the ground as they can get.

My buddy had a snake crawl out from under his refrigerator last Friday and it was pretty nice outside that day. I don't know if it had been there all Winter or if the nice weather woke it up. Either way it came inside. Must've been hungry considering where it was.LOL

I don't think he was too thrilled about it.

I know. it's 30 degrees here but I know my buddies in Texas start catching them way earlier than I get to start here. Typically about a month sooner.

I always start in the 2nd week of March, looking for sunny days that get into the high 60s or warmer.

Nice! That one is a healthy lookin sucker. I figured they'd be laying out sunnin up here if we can ever get a few weeks worth of reasonable weather.

Bet there's a few under some roof tin or ground lumber somewhere. Curled up and just docile as a teddy bear.

                            But I ain't go-n look-n for-um today.

That's when it normally gets really good I think.
