I haven't read the books, so I don't know.
But there were dead doves in that pie when they cracked it open.
It wasn't the wine, I don't think.
I think the bride's mother and the kings grandfather were in cahoots..(I don't know names and I wouldn't spell them right if I did.)
A scene or two before the wedding party, the bride's mother grabbed the old man's arm and they walked off to discuss something.
There you go.
