Oak Tree ID?

I know what I think they are but the location is off. Cedar and mesquite dry hill top in Burleson County. Thinking I might clear the cedars from around them and fertilize.

Looks like what I know as a water oak

Smoother bark and thick limbs that usually hang down near the ground

I do not believe it is an oak.

The leaves say water oak but the bark looks a little different than the ones around here.

x2, don't think its an oak myself. My thinking is its maybe a gum bumelia/chittamwood.
