    Son connects in Kansas

My son shot his best buck to date this past weekend.
We caught them in the chasing stage and had a really fun hunt. Saturday morning he had a young 10 chasing a doe running her right by his stand twice before they headed over the ridge. Few minutes later he sees this one nose on the ground walking straight towards him. The buck hit the trail the doe left turned and walked right past his stand. He drew and hit him at 5 yards clipping the spine and passing through a lung and body, dropping where he stood. With a follow up shot he was done.
I have seen my share of deer but none as beat up as this one. His back had patches of hair missing, puncture holes in his neck and one ear and bruised up. I would like to see the buck or bucks he had tangled with.
I think 4 to 6 year old and weighing 225 to 250. He felt like 500 before we got him off that ridge.
We had 16 degrees Friday morning and it was in the low 60’s when he shot him. Crazy weather for sure.
He also shot a doe Sunday evening so the freezer will be full. He shot her at 25 yards as she walked by feeding and watched her fall after a short 40 yard dash another pass thru love the G5 Montecs.
