If you're tired of regular chili....try this. It is my new go-to recipe.

My shipment arrived yesterday... Thanks again, Blake!!!

A tip that is on Blake's chili mix directions is to use a bloody mary mix (like Zing Zang) instead of tomato sauce. TRY THIS!!!

Blake's mix is the way to go if you're not going to make an old school bowl of red (using actual chilis). I always keep some on hand.

Made this batch this morning.

Elk burger and stew meat with 10% beef suet added
shallots and purple onion from my garden, garlic too (3 cloves)
roasted Big Jim chiles, diced
mexican oregano, 1 tsp
cumin, 1 tsp
celery seeds , 1/2 tsp
oak smoked guajillo chile powder, 1/2 tsp
1 can of whole tomtoes
1 can of water
Chugwater Chile mix to taste, 1-3 TBS
1/3 can dark red kidney beans and 1/3 can chile pinto beans

Yes I know most of you don't put beans in your chili. Up here in the cold we do, along with tomatoes.
By cold I mean like the 24 degrees and 35 mph winds we have today with our dusting of snow.
Roads are closed across the southern part of the state down into Colorado.

If you check out the Terlingua chili cook off official page....they have a list of the last 10 years or so winning recipes....I'm working my way through them and haven't found one yet that I wouldn't make again.
