    Alarm Service / alarm.com

So I'm looking to save some money and our Alarm is something we very seldom use. I wanted to completely cut it off, but my wife still wants it. I originally signed a contract with the company that installed the system, but they use Alarm.com for the monitoring and system control.

I think I pay $60 a month now to have it monitored. Who are you guys using?

Smith Thompson will reprogram your alarm and monitor for $17 a month. IDK about the reprogramming but $60 vs $17 you'll get ROI sooner.

There are many other alarm monitoring outfits that do the same thing.

please excuse brevity and dictation errors.

I would check out SimpliSafe, I have not been happy with Alarm.com and they locked me in to a contract that was ridiculous (my fault I know)

      Equipment was sub par IMO

Smith Thompson. Pay up front for the year and get a month free.

Alarm.com has super shady business practices. I would avoid them at all costs.

How is it monitored? Cell, phone lines or Ethernet?

Buy Ring cameras, strategically place around your house, done.

That pricing is average for cell monitoring. I don't think you'll find a much better deal. We offer cell coverage at 58 per month and that's about as low as it gets around here.

I use alarm.com and it costs me $32month for monitoring. They have been responsive when we need them. The app is easy to use as well.

                        Alarm Service / alarm.com

I bought one off Amazon, it’s not monitored by an agency just works off WiFi so if there is an issue with WiFi it doesn’t work. If I’m not home and it goes off alerts my phone and I would need to call it in. If I’m at home it goes off well I take care of it and wife dials 911

I primarily bought it to keep my teenagers in more than burglars out but it works fine for us.
