Well 2020 has not been the best to me especially the last month or so. I guess the good Lord thought I might need a pick me up. This past Tuesday a buck showed up on my camera that I never expected.
Friday evening sit was eventful I manage to shot a couple of hogs. However, Saturday morning was a blast. I had four does come in shortly after daylight, they were there for about an hour when they looked up towards the north. The day before if it was a buck coming, the does would back away and give him space. This time all four of them just stood there, dang traders. So, as I was kicked back in the tree stand I watched intently for a glimpse of what was coming in. Through the yaupons I could see the body of a deer coming, then I saw the drop on his right side. Things went from cool calm and collected to OH BEEP!! As I leaned forward the stand popped, I think it scared me more than the deer, but it did put a couple of the does on alert. I sat up a bit further and the dang thing popped again, this time three of the does kind busted out of there. The forth just stood there and stare that the buck. By now I am in position, arrow centered on the rest, release clipped in, and the bow shaking like I was in an earthquake. The buck stalled behind a tree and brush that I left for cover. It took him about 3 minutes to work his way into my shooting lane. The rest is history.
