    Cerakote Applicator?

Does anyone have any recommendations on a preferred Cerakote applicator around the Houston area? I am looking to Cerakote a rifle.

I'll be dropping off a rifle to have the barrel cut down and cerakoted at Lohman Gunsmith this week. Haven't used him personally yet, but have heard great things about the work.

If you are located in Magnolia, Circle Star Firearms right up the road in Anderson does cerakoting.

Black sheep can do pretty much anything you can think up.

I use The Gun Cleaners on Wirt Road here in Houston. Jamison Smith is the owner and has done two guns for me there. He is pretty fast and I have no complaints on the end product.

Please send feedback when done. I was looking at taking them something last fall and just didn't get to it.

Thanks for all of the responses. Hopefully I can get the gunsmith work finished up and get the gun over to one of these.

Atxarmory on Roxie in N. Austin did an AR upper and lower in flat dirt earth

Its considered to be a common color that they can turn around in a week

                        Prices are very fair too.

                        Word of advice though-

Dont cerakote small parts like pins

Tolerances are TIGHT when you reassemble

                        Cerakote the receivers
                        Dont cerakote small parts

I'm told the darker the color the more hardness is achieved therefore the most durability

FDE is not as durable as black.

I did my benelli in black. Camo was considered. But durability won out.

Everything can be cerakoted down to the smallest pin or screw, you just can’t be heavy fingered when you’re spraying the cerakote, but where I work we can spray everything. Only time you have fitment issues is when it’s an extremely tight gun typically high end handguns and over unders and when you go to heavy with your coats on a multi color pattern.

What’d they do to it? Wonder if it was while I was there.
