It's that time again. My favorite season of all. Early Teal. I have been driving the roads east & wsw of Houston the last couple of days. I personally haven't seen hardly any teal in places that normally or should have lots of birds. Birds that are here must be concentrated in a few areas. I have talked to biologist & hunters & hearing the same thing I am seeing. No matter how many l will be chasing all 16 days, lord willing. Nothing I would rather do than sit in the early light & hear those rockets whipping around. I'll update the hunts as they happen!

A Great day on the Garwood prairie! Hunted a small pond with my son John & Droebuck on here. Let a buddy go to my bigger flat. He was supposed to have his grandson & found out last night the boy was having some issues at school so no hunting for the grandson. Told him to go anyways. I normally expect about half limits or so here ,but we killed everything that came in range & ended up with 17. As an added bonus Donnie rolled up one with a band. Great ending. Shooting overall was fair to good on the prairie it sounded like. LOTS & I mean lots of hunters on the roads ,but definitely not the volume of shooting across the land. Great start & jumping to roll tomorrow!!

We got 13 in brookshire, there were a lot of teal but we’re not decoying. We were definitely not in the X. Got a little better later when other hunters move out. Will try again next weekend!

Another Great morning on the Garwood prairie. Me & my son hunted & got limits this AM. Working good this mornin so ,I pulled out the 28 ga. Makes it even more fun shooting the small gauges. Lots of hunters out again & pretty good amount of shooting. Ready for day 3 already!

Another Great day in the field & some birds to top it off. Me & ole June Bug hit the Gwood prairie this AM. Started out slow then picked up later. Ended up with our limit shooting another 28 ga. Couple of other big groups in the distance were working on them good.
