        CRYIN' FOR DAYLIGHT, written by Louised S. O'Connor is a great book about the cowboys and history of the O'Connor ranch and ranching the Coastal Bend.

              I also have this on my coffee table along with some of the Time/Life books. “The Ranchers” is a favorite.

                    The Rooke ranch in Refugio had a cowboy/ranch manager that was born and raised on that ranch. Hugh Thomas was his name and he died March 2018 at the age of 88. He was working on the ranch to nearly the day he died.

                          Hunted the Lamshead ranch for ten years. Some great books about that ranch and Watt Mathews.
