We have boated over a 100, that were over 40lbs this yr.
122 I think is the exact number.
Never keep em though, unless we hang a little guy.
One day that 80lb is going to show up!
        At least that's the goal.
72lb is the mark we're trying to beat.
I need to potlick off of you!!! That's awesome.

I sure would like to talk to you about that lake....hows the crappie?

I've HEARD there are good crappie on Texana, but never really fished for them. I know there has been structure placed on the main lake over the years for crappie. We've caught a few nice ones and a whole bunch of juveniles while seigning along the banks of the state park for bait for our jug lines. Even caught one on a jug one time. It was baited with either small perch or goldfish. I've also heard there is some good crappie and bass fishing up the Mustang Creek arm of the lake.

Biggest gizzards we can find, or giant chunks of carp.
Gotta be big enough to keep the 20lbs and under off it.
It's impossible to put on a bait too big imo.
2 - 3lb white bass fished whole are the best, but illegal.

Cut them in half, and thread both pieces on a 10/0 circle hook, attached to a santee cooper rig.
Or chunks of carp about 2lbs each.

We soaked some noodles yesterday on the bayou but only caught 1 small blue. I'll give it another try in a few weeks.
