Default 2022 tundra catalytic converters

Ok I’ve searched the internet. I need answers from someone who knows.

I traded in my 2012 Tundra for a 2022 Tundra. I keep hearing 4 converters.

I bought a plate to cover the two easy to get to under the truck. I will install tomorrow.

It looks like there are two more upstream of those closer to the exhaust manifolds.

But there is something just upstream of the tail pipe that looks like a converter.

So now I’m wondering if there are 3 or possibly 5.

This plate should protect everything up front if there are 4 up there.

But what is that thing near the tail pipe?

The turds that steal the cats are not smart enough to pull off running a car ring.

Basically a muffler. No precious metals in them.

He's more right than your initial guess. It's closer to being a muffler than a cat.... It works with the muffler to dampen noises.

Maybe but it looks more like a cat than a muffler.

And lately folks around here have looked more like smart asses than help.

The one at end of tailpipe is a resonator, designed to help with muffler.

I'd bet the people removing cats don't know the difference. At least that one, once removed, won't stop the truck form working LOL
