This was the sunset driving home from the archery elk opener today (I only saw elk tracks and fresh skat).

Morning all. I donít post on this thread as much as I should.

I was just sitting here drinking coffee this morning pondering. This is my 5th opening morning in a row that Iím not sitting in a blind on a lease. I honestly donít miss the lease part and the drama that seems to go with them but I do miss following tradition that Iíve been doing for 38 years (minus the past 5).

Good luck to all that are out there chasing a dream buck.

A simple ďCheersĒ to all those sitting at a deer camp this weekend, either knee-deep into Bow Season or getting ready for Gun Season.
Enjoy the peace, tranquility, friendship, and above all enjoy the hunt!

Best we can figure a bunch of fine grass got caught under the belts and friction started the fire. We'd already cleaned the loose hay off/out twice before because we were worried about this happening.

We had that one for 17 years and been round baling close to 30 years and this is the first one we've had to catch fire. I was really hoping to get another 20 out of it since the new ones aren't cheap

Iím sure theyíre not cheap.

October in Montana and no snow at our place yet. Getting ready for olí man winter. Finished stacking 5 cords of split fir added to the 2 cords we had. I figured I buy and stack it this year- Iíll only be more sore next.

Chimney cleaned.

1,000 gal propane tank is full.

All terrains on both pickups.

I need to get the chains put on my old/spare wheels/tires on the Honda SxS.

Our 5th winter up north, itís not bad if youíre prepared and dressed for it.

ÖÖ. Until it gets below -10 and then itís darn cold outside.

Glad you're doing well Bill! I love my place in Centerville but would rather be up there with you. But 5 kids, 7 grandkids, and 2 on the way have me grounded.

One of my granddaughters this past weekend enjoying the KCA Ranch....

My son Brady started shooting some archery tournaments last year. He had his 1st one of this season today at Cinnamon Creek, and shot his personal best to win!

My first season in decades where I'm not hunting with a compound bow. My buddy's crossbow let me hunt October, and take a buck, but it's not the same.

Still hopeful that I can avoid surgery for this torn bicep tendon. I have to quit aggravating it though.

My daughter has taken up some of the slack.

My youngest daughter decided she wants to hunt. Today we went and let her shoot the Remington Mohawk 6mm. She had a few stray shots but got dialed in pretty quick.
