I worked for a guy 20 years ago that had his neighbor's dog come and relieve himself on his garbage can every morning really early, it had marked his territory and came back. After the guy refused to do anything, Ray stripped an old extension cord, put 1 end on a metal stake in the ground, and clipped the other to the can, and soaked the area with water. When Fido was in "full stream", he plugged it into the outlet in the garage. His circuit breaker tripped, but not before the dog got a major zap in the gonads. Fido never came back again there.

Leaving the dog's crap on his doorstep is OK, but never in the mailbox, that breaks federal laws.
