    Need a value please

Thinking about getting a Winchester model 70xtr chambered in 222 in almost new shape. Wood in immaculate and the blueing on the barrel is in great shape as well. I would say it is still at least 90% or maybe better. It has the black tip like the Remington CDL. What’s the gurus opinion on worth? Looks like it was made in 1978 from the serial number.

I dont know anything about them. Does the front sight add, decrease the value?

I’m not sure. But looking at the pics again it has both front and back irons.

Doubt there is much collector value rare caliber if you want a triple deuce and can get it for $500 that is a pretty good deal.

I think I made a pretty fair deal on it. It belonged to a 84yr old man that did not shoot many rounds through it. Has sat in the safe most of its life.

Anybody else that has a value book or access to a website that will tell them a value?

Nice gun. Had a Rem 600 in 222. Was close to a one hole shooter.

That value on Gunbroker is asking price and he his first ad at that price expired Jan 30. Market is not paying that much apparently. There are a couple on 24 hour campfire that were said to have sold for 1K to 1300 in 2015. Guns auction sold one in 2013 for 600.

                          How's that for a range!
