This is a just-for-fun thread brought about by the want to buy carry gun thread in the classifieds. So what in your opinion is the world's best carry gun? Also if you feel that it needs to be outfitted a certain way with whatever sights, mags, Etc toss that in as well

You will get many different answers on this one, but only one answer is correct The most reliable pistol you feel comfortable with and can shoot accurately

IMHO, the Sig P365, but, if money is an object the new Ruger is getting great reviews.

I'm not looking for a carry gun, just curious what everybody's favorite is. There is no right or wrong answer on this, it's just a for thread

My current favorites are:
1) Glock 29 with 9x25 Dillon conversion. 125 grain Gold Dot @ 1600 fps. 2) Glock 43X with 15 round shield arms mags. 3) Sig P365 with 12 round mags. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Wow, does that 29 get that speed out of the stock length barrel? That is smoking out of a 3.75 or so inch barrel

For 325 I bought a S&W shield. Put a 75dollar trigger in it and it's hard to beat. Hk usp will but don't want to scratch it

Walther PPK/s. That said, I carry a LCP 9 most often. Will be following closely as I am in the market for a higher capacity.

It's just a personal preference thing. There is no "best".
I keep trying all the new wonder guns, small guns, etc and keep coming back to the good ol Glock 19. |

For me, Glock 43. I like the 43X (what my wife has) but like the shorter grip for concealed carry.

I'm in the P365 camp, that thing goes every I do. Gotta have the 12rd mags though. I don't care for the way it feels in my hand with the ten rounders.

I carry several different pistols depending on what clothes I am wearing.
The best gun to carry is one of the largest caliber you are most proficient with, can deploy the fastest and be accurate with on a full mag dump. |

I went round and round with this question and ultimately ease of carry is the main deciding factor (after function). For me, I like the small pocket pistols. I just throw it in my front pocket like I would my phone or wallet. The ease of carry means I actually carry it more. I like the Kahr p380 or cw380. They are DAO which I like for carry purposes. The idea of carrying a pistol "C&L" in my pocket doesn't appeal to me. I know the .380 gets some flack for being a small round but with quality ammo, it will more than do the job. Especially if you consider 95% of concealed carry use is within 10' or less.

Currently a SW bodyguard. I will actually carry it so it is the best to me. 2nd place is an xds 9mm but don't carry it thus it's 2nd place position.

Sig p365 with 12 round mag. Occasionally a 15 round backup is carried also. It goes everywhere I go. Keys, wallet, phone, Redman and P365.

I rotate 3 depending on what I’m wearing and what I feel like carrying. 43x,45 and P10c
For me the 43x is pretty close to perfect size carry gun. I want to get it cut and put a red dot on it. The one that fits my hand and shoots the best for me is the P10C. Running a Holosun on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Mikey,
I got lucky...I was referred a new customer for consignment & he had the EDC & a FNS-9C. Told him about how the deal works on GB & not a fast process by the time you go through the auction / shipping etc. Well, he was hot for the $$$ to get another toy & said he would be happy to get $2500 for both...couldn't get the checkbook out any faster if I tried!! ![]() Oscar, I would look at the staccato as well. https://www.wilsoncombat.com |

For me it’s a Glock-29. Been carrying it since ‘05. Still in its 10mm configuration.
After reading the results MikeD is getting from his conversion I may look at fitting a .357 SIG barrel to it. I have plenty of brass & bullets to use. My other favorite was a SIG 229 in .357 SIG. I ended up selling it to a fella back in AZ . Now it’s one of those guns I wish I never sold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Before micros were the “thing” I toted Glocks almost exclusively because of round capacity. That being said.....until something better comes along the P365 is what I’ll have on me. I’ve carried a whole bunch of micros over the years but this Sig conceals well, has an awesome trigger, is both ergonomic and accurate....and totes 11 rounds.

Surprised no one mentioned the Springfield Hellcat. My wife ordered me one to try out with the shield RMSc red dot. Comes with 11+1 and 13+1.

My son bought the Hellcat when it first came out. He's always tried to 1-up the ole man...with the 1 extra round
![]() He didn't like the overall ergonomics compared to my P365 and couldn't get it to group for shatt! He sold it and bought a 365. Nothing against Springfield Armory. I love their triggers and even carried an XDM 9 for awhile. |

Good to know. Other than the G48 / G43X’s 15+1, the P365 and Hellcat (and now Shield plus and Ruger ) are really the choices for micro compact these days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This one is on my hip most days when I'm not carrying the 1911 C3
It may be an ice pick 9mm but it can stab up to 22 times with the extended mag and 18 times with standard mag. The 1911 C3 is just a .45 cal sledge hammer and usually only takes one hit for a knock out. |

Either Glock 48 with S15 mags or a Sig 365 XL. I tend to grab the Sig most mornings. I shoot it slightly better and it’s a little more comfortable to me.

Ditto. I actually bought both with the idea the one my wife liked best would be hers and I would carry the other. We both liked the Hellcat's feel a lot more so i sold the 365 and bought another Hellcat.
