    old gas can

I found this when cleaning out around my grandparents place. How old do y’all think it is? Any good tips on how to clean up the inside. I was thinking some pea gravel shaken around inside. The inside isint rusted, just crud stuck to the side

I’ve used small bolts nuts and washers but pea gravel will work. Maybe pour some goo gone inside a few times also while rattling things loose

That’s the kind we had when I was a kid.
I would guess around 45-50 years old.

I’ve used apple cider vinegar on old metal gas tanks on dirt bikes with success. Rinsed with water. Then a little rubbing alcohol to dry the water out.

This was the recipe my dad used to clean old metal gas cans too.

I’d say about 40 years old

After cleaning you can use gas tank seal to fortify it
