A better rat trap

I have a small storage building in my back yard that a rat has decided to take over.
I have tried almost every trick I know with a regular old rat trap but he throws them
So the other day I bought me a couple of 110 conibear traps. Built me a little wooden box out of 1x8s that the conibear would fit in with just enough clearance to work and baited it with some dry dog food and set it out


Works better than a regular rat trap and already caught 2 in 3 nights

Tough to tell based on the side view but he would definitely have made P&Y had the OP been lucky enough to have taken him with a bow. Still a nice trophy by anyone's standards

You are a real killer Brian. I would have never thought about a conibear for rats but really perfect for it. They would be the death on squirrels as well.
