First Track for the Young Pup

The goal here was to take a doe to get this young pup a good track and get some meat in the freezer. The 8 point in the foreground hogged my hand corn for 2 hunts. This doe finally came in behind him at 23 yards (the first doe to get inside 30 in the 2 hunts).

I was successful with the shot and Jovie did great on her first real blood trail.

It's amazing to see the instinct especially at the end as she sits and announces her find.

What really helped me when I was training my pup was always starting her just downwind of the bloodtrail. That way she was constantly getting face full of scent till she learned to zig zag the trail
