Throw my vote in for the 264 Win Mag. It was hammering heavy 6.5 pills waayyy down range long before the magic of the 6.5's were "discovered" by the mainstream. It's only gotten better with age and modern components.

Never understood why people like .40. High pressure round wears guns out wayyy quicker as compared to 9mm or .45. Hard to control compared to almost every other pistol caliber. (I can shoot my 10mm as good as my .40) If you want more power over a 9mm get a 10mm or .45. The .40 was literally designed for agents who couldn't handle the full power 10mm loads.

Not exactly. The full power 10mm barely line up with the very low power .41 magnum. Average loads for both calibers don't line up.


Nothing against .41 magnum, but i've never seen a modern handgun platform offered in that caliber, so I choose 10mm.

28ga great for dove. Doesn’t have the cool factor of a .410 20ga or 12ga but a better starter shotgun for kids.

The 28 ga is the preferred gauge for a lot of serious upland bird hunters and skeet shooters. When the private plane touches down with a load of rich quail hunters, most will be bringing 28 ga guns

If I am hunting upland birds over dogs I use a 28 ga, sweetest gauge their is

.40 is the most utilized round for LE...no way is it becoming obsolete or is the 30-06 an unpopular round & is ICONIC. Underrated means it's HARD to find a good selection of ammo yet is a fantastic round that should be more mainstream for the masses. 22lr is mentioned?? good grief, that is the most popular round out there.

Not to derail on a 40 vs 9..

BUT, departments are ditching 40 daily and switching over to 9mm. Cheaper, higher mag capacity, less recoil, and dang near same ballistics.

Matter of fact, I cant name a department near me that utilizes 40 anymore.

LE is offloading .40 in droves right now. You can stock pile trade-in guns and mags for cheap. If .40 is your thing .
