    Field and Brush Mower

Missed a great deal on one here and have been looking. What brands are good, anything to look for? More than I want to spend but have some underbrush to clear and looks like this would make light work of the chore. Looking around $500 to rent for a coupe weekends so thinking of buying used. Any info is appreciated.

DR Power and Swisher are the way to go IMO. If you just want to mow around a tank I would look at the Billy Goats.

We bought a used DR on here 2 years ago and its a beast. We mow our roads and trails with. It will mulch up 2" saplings like nothing. Here is short a video I took of it mowing our lease road this past summer. The video quality isn't the best but you can see what it does lol. It was waist high in several spots.

Watch "DR Brush Cutter" on YouTube

DR or Swisher. I have the DR and it’s a beast.

Depends on which hp mower you get. I have the Pro XL 44T, 44" 20hp and it does great with ~2" saplings. They all claim to cut 3".

Cut 2" saplings, brush, and 4' field grass! DR tow-behind mowers for every property. Brush mowers & finish cut mowers available up to 22 HP. FREE SHIPPING!

Is there anywhere you could rent one between Houston and say, Huntsville? Or a member that would let me rent it from them?

I have an OLD model DR (metal spoke wheels w/ hard rubber tires) and that DR eats up 2" mesquite no problem. I would think Youpons would be no problem for it.

Yes, I rented one last year and it did awesome. It has a very low profile with hand controlled forward and reverse transmission. That’s exactly why I rented it since it’s just too dangerous to get that close to the tank with my tractor and brush hog.
