Archery and Crossbows

Only the archery and crossbow equipment prescribed in this section may be used for taking game animals or game birds.
Archery and crossbow equipment may not be used to hunt deer during the Muzzleloader-Only Deer Season.
Archery and crossbows are lawful for non-protected non- game animals.

I was hoping I could use my bow during the muzzleloader season. Time to dust off the old CVA.😁

It would be nice if the TPWD would change it to Primitive Weapons or include Archery in BP season.

Answer me this. Muzzle loaders have their own exclusive 2 week season, and can kill all the animals they have tags for, but don’t pay any additional stamp fee like we do for our archery season. Seems strange.

I asked my buddy who is cousins with a guy who met a game warden and he says so long as you push the arrow in from the front of the rest it's technically a muzzle loader.
