    Gonna buy a new scope

    I'm looking at this one

Which rings should I get. Should I buy something else that is equivalent.

I'd scrounge up another $300 - $400 and get a Burris Eliminator iii.... fantastic scope, at least for my missions....

Can't go wrong with a set of Talley lightweights.

Unfortunetely, I am already higher than I really want to go. So that $579 is pretty much my max.

That’s a great scope! I have 4 on various hunting rifles.

Great scope, I put game reaper mounts on everything now

I have that same scope and used these from Vortex. Great budget rings, torque values are listed on them which is handy. Very pleased for the price. If you are not mounting on a rail, I would go with Talley lightweights like others mentioned. For the money, there isn’t a better ring out there in my opinion

I agree with Talleys or use Warne if you have a rail.

Do I need the side focus?

Warne mountain tech low rings. If you have a rain it should be perfect for a 50mm.

Unless you are shooting long range I prefer to not have side focus. Just another thing to adjust to get a crisp image.

                        Stick with Leupold!

Talley rings are what I put on my last 3 rifles....they seem solid.

I can save like $130 and get the same scope without that side focus.

The side focus is adjusting the parallax. Without it it's preset. I personally would want it with the parallax adjustment on any scope past 10x-ish.

Side focus useless for hunting but Leupold is as good as any and way better than most!
