    Guess The Distance

    Guess the distance.

The gap is just slightly more than half of what it was with the bow I did it last with.

No one wants to play, and I had a prize for whoever guessed it first.

    100 yards.

Oh, I thought you were guessing and walking the shot in. Sorry bud, I'm running a little crazy.

I wouldn't even begin to know where to hold half that far out.

I bet it was twice as far as half way .

I don't understand what's going on with this thread Rick. Are you saying you shot those three arrows at a certain distance?

I didn't guess because I couldn't figure it out either. I just thought it had to be Traditional thing.

Sorry. I didn't make it clear.

All from 100 yards. One high, one low, and the last one on target.

As Howard Hill, and Jim Fetro used to say:

"Shooting the line (left/right) is the most important thing."

Howard would add: (Not exact quote) - "If you don't have the distance, and aim point figured by the 3rd shot, something ain't right."

Knowing the distance makes it easier.

I lead in with my first shot using the gap as it is with my old bow, and shot way high. I over compensated with my second shot, and shot way low, after that I had it figured.

To me, the most important things to learn from this exercise are:

                      (1) Whats the forgiveness level of the bow? This bow is very VERY forgiving.

                      (2) How's your tune? My tune is where it needs to be.

                      Rick
