How did you calculate the 6 months = $4800? I thought I read that they leased it for $175/day???

$175 x 30days =$5250 x 6 months = $31,500 x 40% = $12,600 you are owed. What am I missing?

To clarify:

We signed a contract with a company that has a fleet of rental trailers.
They rent them out, just like you'd do on rvshare or outdoorsy.
When the trailer is rented, we get 40% of the rental fee.
They're supposed to clean the trailer after each rental and do any maintenance required.

The detective called Tina a short while ago. He's going by Vakay, TODAY, to see if our trailer is on their lot. If it is, he is going to inform them what's going on an that we will come get it today. If it's not there, he will let them know that if they don't get it back to us, they're going to have problems.

This is moving pretty quick, which makes me happy. I know the legal end of this, to collect our money won't be nearly as quick.

Ft Bend Sheriff has been nothing but helpful through this ordeal.

I'm guessing that the long term rental rate is less than $175 a day.

I hope this also. But odds are he's no where to be found today. Or making some excuse about taking longer to fix the trailer than thought... But this can't be it because Texastaxi could then go see the trailer.

Vakay Rentals is posting on Facebook several times a day. The latest is offering trailers to displaced people from Florida.

Time to light them up?

They have been posting on their Facebook page all day, seems business as usual for them. Can't believe they get away with doing this to folks day after day.

Kevin, hope this all works out. As far as collecting later, I'm with RR. Go after them as quick as you can. Don't wait for the others to get their crap together. Vacay might be able to pay you off but, add in 10 others and its 15 years before your see all your money

The long term rental is $2000 per month. They get a "break" for the long term rental.

Not people, insurance companies. Of course this could all be another lie, but Ron told the detective that this was out on an insurance claim for someone in a displaced situation from the Louisiana storm a few years ago. Ron also claimed that the insurance (Allstate) quit paying the rental fees. If this was true, he should have went and picked up the trailer. There are so many things that don't add up about all of this.

His deal with Allstate going south has no effect on his agreement with you.

I tell him the best way to protect his arse is to pay me the money he agreed to.

That sucks.

But at least he lied to the detective. That has to be worth something.

So what did the detective tell you after you didn't get it back on the 30th?

And I may have missed it but does your insurance or Vaykay insurance cover anything?

I just don't understand how, after you proved he has not paid and stole the trailer they still make you sit back and wait even longer. Bunch of BS.

And why can't the detective ask where the trailer is just so you can go look at it to know it still exists? I understand he can't kick out someone living in it (that takes time).

The detective called Tina, out of the blue today, to ask if we got our trailer back, on the 30th, as Ron promised.

She told him that she hadn't heard anything from Ron, and we didn't have it.
The detective went back out there, to ask Ron where the trailer was.
It was not on their lot (big surprise, huh) and now Ron has recanted his statement about it being in LA, and wouldn't tell the detective where it was.

I've been patiently hoping that since we had a LEO involved, that this would be resolved pretty quickly. I guess I was wrong about that. Just like every other criminal, Ron knows there are no repercussions, and nothing is going to happen to him, so he's not even bothered about this.

I'm getting to the end of my rope.

Ron is an idiot. Hope the detective has a little bit of Josey Wales in him and lives by the feud. Get your contract, see if you waived DTPA, and get a lawyer at this point.

Exactly my thought.

I mean, he obviously has/had possession of the trailer by his own admission and apparently wonít cooperate in the retrieval.

I donít know, not a lawyer but the fact that this guy is still walking around freely is baffling to me.
