My dad shot his #1 hit list buck. We saw lots of deer but lots of them were not interested in the corn! He shot his buck out of a bachelor group of 10 bucks! I saw a big 7 I wanted to shoot, but he had somewhere else he wanted to be! I also heard my first Sika bugles which was cool!

Hunted last weekend, between full moon, and the acorns everywhere, the deer barely came to the feeders at all during the day. as soon as it got dark was a different story.

My little brother managed to get a (rifle) shot on his first axis, and stepdad got a ram.

Saw a really nice whitetail buck at about 150 yds

I hunted last week and had a bunch of bucks still in pretty decent bachelor groups. I shot at a decent mature 10 but ďsome howĒ shot low. Axis are not coming into our feeders again and the hogs have become more frequent visitors.

It happened lol here a pic of what I could get. The deer dropped and I was still low! Iím guessing I was 3 feet under at 24 yards!!! The deer definitely got a small buzz cut. He stood there at 60 yards after the shot zero cares. Saw him the very next morning before shooting light

My morning couldnít have been better. Went to a blind where I had been seeing some axis, but couldnít get them in close enough to try to shoot with my longbow. This morning, I took the Elite just in case any of them came in. Right at 7:00, this buck came in, and he was plenty close enough for the Elite!!!!! He was quartered away a bit, and I centerpunched him.

I wish that left caudle hadnít been broken off, but on 100ac with as few sightings as I get, I canít afford to be too choosy!!!!! Either way, I couldnít be happier!

Talking with the New TPWD Biologist for Sutton County they are saying corroborates what i have been seeing on our place, that the recovery from Anthrax has been significantly slower than they anticipated. Our place is still decimated!

Most of the time they start running pretty good the week after Thanksgiving. I have taken most of my mature bucks in that time frame.

What phase? Bucks split up and showing dominance, Bucks chasing or bucks locked down on does?
